EMMA Barton will be taking a break from playing Honey in EastEnders to take part in the Strictly Come Dancing tour.
TV insiders revealed that the actress, 42, is expected to be away from the BBC soap for up to five weeks as she travels the country dancing.
She will be partnered up with Graziano Di Prima rather than her current partner Anton Du Beke.
It is very common for soap stars to have time off from the show for other work commitments.
She will be following in the footsteps of fellow cast members Jake Wood and Davood Ghadmi who also took a break to go on tour.
Emma is expected to continue filming until the New Year when the tour kicks off on January 16th in Birmingham.
Her last show will be on February 9th at London’s o2 Arena, when she will return to playing Honey on the EastEnders.
Emma’s character, Honey Mitchell, is currently embroiled in an upsetting storyline with her love rat partner Adam Bateman.
So far she has remained quiet about him cheating on her with Habiba, but her bulimia has returned due to the stress.
In upcoming scenes she will finally confront him at the Queen Vic in front of the packed pub after months of being downtrodden by him.
It is unclear what will happen once she publicly outs him but perhaps her character will decide to take a break to get her head together, which would coincide with her going on tour.
Emma previously opened up about how she juggles rehearsing for Strictly with her EastEnders filming schedule.
She said: “Yeah and I guess there have been weeks at the beginning of the competition where we have had more time.
“You still want that extra day. You still want those few extra hours. You just have to work with what you are given.
“I work really hard. Anton works really hard. I have said this before. I am on two of the biggest shows on the BBC. I’m a very lucky girl.
“I just hammer on. But of course, I would have loved a few more days.”
