DEAR DEIDRE: I HAVE been prescribed Viagra twice by the doctor but it just gives me hot flushes and I am unable to keep my erection.
I am 52 and married. My wife and I had a good sex life until a few years ago but I am starting to lose interest in sex altogether now because I feel so useless.
I work in the construction industry and I wonder if the exhausting days have caused the difficulties with my sex life.
Should I give up on sex altogether? This seems a shame, particularly for my wife who is only 48 – far too young not to have a sex life.
DEIDRE SAYS: I hope your GP gave you a general health check so you know there is no underlying medical problem here that needs treating.
My e-leaflet on Solving Erection Problems should help you.
Also, the end of an exhausting day isn’t the best moment for sex. Try weekend mornings.
And remember, you and your wife can share sexual pleasure without you needing a hard enough erection for intercourse.
