HACKERS infiltrated an airport departure board, plastering images of teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg across the timetables with the message “f*** you Greta.”
The message for the 16-year-old eco-warrior was met with outrage at Odessa International Airport, Ukraine where hackers also spread false information about cancelled and delayed flights.
Airport officials say the screens were switched off as soon as the offensive images were spotted.
Protesters managed to hack into the airport’s computer system, posting a photo of Greta snapped during her emotional UN climate summit speech.
They accompanied the photo with the phrase: “f**** you Greta.”
Local media report her UN speech was negatively received by a large majority of Russian speakers, with many people calling her a “sick”, “angry” and “aggressive” child.
Odessa airport confirmed that no flights had been affected by the stunt, which is thought to have been carried out in protest against the Swedish schoolgirl.
Taking to social media, travellers expressed their disgust at the targeting of the teen, describing it as “shameful.”
One user wrote: “It is such a shame that Odessa is showing itself as a shallow place where people are capable of doing such ridiculous things.”
The 16-year-old activist has been the subject of outrageous trolling from all sides in her plight to raise awareness of climate change.
Greta grabbed the world’s attention when she staged a School Strike for Climate in front of the Swedish Parliament in August 2018.
But she has also faced a barrage of trolling and abuse.
Last month, fans and naysayers of the radical environmentalist alike were horrified when elderly French left-wing intellectuals branded the teenager “not sexy enough.”
Their taunts were reported in The Sunday Times, after the campaignersaid that she could not understand why adults and world leaders would mock children and teens for acting on science.
Philosopher and author Onfray, 60, dubbed her a “cyborg” before sneeringly describing fellow young climate activists as a “herd of sheep”.
He wrote: “She makes you think of those silicon dolls heralding the end of humanity, the post-human era.
“She has the face, age, sex and body of a cyborg of the third millennium, her envelope is neutral, she is, alas, where mankind is heading.”
And controversial GMB host Piers Morgan has come under fire several times for his comments on the Swede.
He sparked outrage on the show earlier this month for a bizarre impersonation of the autistic teenager.
The youngster has been diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, selective mutism and OCD.
Piers has repeatedly taken aim at Greta, and recently blasted the Swedish trailblazer when she was tipped to win the Nobel Peace Price.
He tweeted then: “What’s she done for peace, exactly? She’s got just very very angry about climate change, abused loads of adults & terrified millions of children.”
The outspoken TV personality came under fire again when he branded the teenage girl as “unstable.”
And Greta has had some incredibly public spats with some of the most powerful world leaders.
In a daring move, she mocked Vladimir Putin after he called her a “kind but poorly informed teenager” by making the phrase her Twitter bio.
And she did the same to Trump following his comments on her emotional speech at the UN climate action summit.
The 16-year-old activist changed her Twitter bio to describe herself as “a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future,” following Trump’s tweet with exactly the same wording.
