ED WOODWARD arrived at Manchester United’s training ground on Monday morning for a debrief following the 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
The Red Devils executive vice-chairman has come under fierce scrutiny for his role in the club’s current plight, with fans organising a protest prior to the Old Trafford stalemate against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Supporters then flew a plane with a banner reading “Ed Still Failing #WoodwardOut” over the Theatre of Dreams before the 1-1 draw against Liverpool.
But Woodward was among the first to arrive at United’s Carrington training ground on Monday morning at around 8:30 am.
The Red Devils produced a much-improved performance on Sunday to become the first team to take points of Liverpool this campaign.
And during an interview with fanzine United We Stand, Woodward revealed his confidence that he is the right man to lead the club back to silverware.
He said: “I understand the scrutiny; it’s part of the job. And I don’t want to be famous and can’t be mates with the players.
“But we have to do everything we possibly can to get back to winning the Premier League. We are not successful until we do. Second is not success – we have to win the Premier League.”

United’s draw with Liverpool lifted them up to 13th in the league, and helped relieve some of the pressure on under-fire Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian, who arrived at Carrington with this son, was also among the first into training with his players set for a light session after their efforts on Sunday.
Goalscorer Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, who made his first-team return from the bench against Liverpool, were also pictured with United back in action later this week.
The Red Devils travel to Serbia on Wednesday for their Europa League fixture against Partizan Belgrade on Thursday night.
Old Trafford chiefs are reportedly bracing themselves for a £3billion takeover bid from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.
But Red Devils executive vice-chairman Woodward also claimed the Glazers are committed to the club for the foreseeable future.
He added: “Based on what I see, they’re in it for the long term.
“With regards to offers or asking prices, my understanding is that there have been no discussions for a price for the club or anything like that.”
