NETFLIX’s newest horror offering is driving viewers away from their phones.
The streaming service has released Wounds, a terrifying thriller starring Dakota Johnson and Armie Hammer.
Hammer plays Will, a bartender in New Orleans whose entire world is turned on its head when he retrieves a lost phone.
The device starts to subject him to disturbing visions, before turning him against girlfriend Carrie (Johnson) and bar regular Alicia (Zazie Beetz).
Soon his rage spirals out of control and he becomes unable to differentiate between his dark hallucinations and reality.
Eventually he is drawn towards a terrifying dark portal reminiscent of the Upside Down in Stranger Things.
The flick is directed by Babak Anvarie, who horror fans will know best for writing Under the Shadow.
Suffice to say those who have already watched the film had strong reactions, if social media is anything to go by.
“Just watched Wounds on Netflix and guess I’m gonna have to flush my phone now. No demons for me thanks,” one user wrote.
“Sweat to God my phone is OFF LIMITS after seeing Wounds. Reckon it’s safe if I turn on airplane mode?” another added, alongside a thinking emoji.
Meanwhile a third wrote: “Wounds means no sleep and no phone for me anymore FFS.”
Netflix has been upping its horror offering in the run up to Halloween, recently dropping Eli, a film about a boy with an autoimmune condition who is locked up with ghosts.
Some eagle-eyed fans even spotted Stranger Things star Sadie Sink in the trailer.
Wounds is available to stream on Netflix now.
