ANDY RUIZ JR reckons Anthony Joshua’s new slimmed down frame is evidence the Brit will look to “run” in their rematch and aim to win on points.
Brit superstar AJ, 30, looks to have lost bulk in preparation for his crack at redemption on December 7 in Saudi Arabia.
And unified champion Ruiz – who revealed he plans to cut 10lbs from his 19st build – claims Joshua has trimmed down in a bid to prepare for a long night in the Middle East.
He said: “He looks a little slimmer, but I don’t think that’s going to do any different.
“He’s going to try and win by points – especially since he’s going to be running around.
“My job is to cut the ring, and that’s exactly what we’ve been training for.
“I don’t really worry about what he’s doing, you know. We have to worry about what we’re doing. He has to train hard.
“I feel that he has more pressure than I do. I just have to do what I have to do, and just let my hands go and focus.
“He even said at one of the press conferences, he said that he was gonna be boxing around.
“He kinda told me his strategy, but whatever he does we’re gonna do the best we can to do our thing.”
Ruiz, 30, held a public work out in San Diego on Sunday, where he reminded fans of the blistering hand speed that decked AJ four times on the way to his shock win in June.
The WBA, IBF and WBO champion has vowed to prove his 25-1 upset in New York was no fluke.
But stunned Joshua has brought in unbeaten 5-0 heavyweight American Timothy Moten to replicate Ruiz in sparring, as well as planning a session with Finchley Amateur Boxing pal Derek Chisora.
