DOMINO’S has launched a New York hot dog pizza topped with hot dogs, red onions and mustard mayonnaise.
This taste of the Big Apple is available to order from Domino’s stores nationwide – but for a limited time only.
Prices for the pizza vary depending on location, but in three locations The Sun checked the hot dog-inspired pizza cost £14.99 for a small, £16.99 for a medium and £18.99 for a large.
That makes it the same price as other popular Domino’s pizzas such as the Pepperoni Passion and Texas BBQ.
But, you can slash those prices by up to 50 per cent, as the New York hot dog pizza is available as part of Domino’s various deals and offers.
The pizza’s two new ingredients; hot dogs and mustard mayonnaise, can’t be added to any other pizzas, including the create your own option.
But, as with all Domino’s pizzas, you can customise the New York hot dog pizza by adding or removing toppings, or changing the base – but this usually costs extra.
It’s unclear exactly how long the hot dog pizza will be available for, but Domino’s has said it will be available until the end of the year.
Domino’s have confirmed that the hot dog slices used on the pizza contain pork, so it’s not suitable for some people with dietary restrictions.
The New York pizza is definitely an indulgent treat, with half a medium pizza containing 824 calories, 39g of fat and 4g of salt.
NHS guidelines suggest you should eat around 2,000 calories a day if you’re a woman and 2,500 if you’re a man.
It also recommends eating no more than 70g of fat and 6g of salt a day.
Last year, Domino’s launched another fast-food inspired pizza – a cheeseburger pizza made with ground beef, gherkins, onions and burger sauce.
It was joined earlier this year by a bacon cheeseburger pizza, a version of the cheeseburger pizza with added bacon.
You can find your nearest Domino’s store by visiting its website.
Pizza Hut has also launched a New York Hot Dog pizza in its stores made with hot dogs, caramelised onion, red onion and French mustard drizzle.
And, it looks like the Pizza Hut’s version of the hot dog pizza might be better value than Domino’s offering.
Prices vary depending on location, but one store we looked at was selling a regular New York hot dog pizza – the same size as a Domino’s medium pizza – for just £12.39, making it £4.60 cheaper than Domino’s.
If you’re after a pizza bargain, Tesco is selling a large pizza, two sides, dips and beer – all for £10.
And, speaking of unusual toppings, Asda now sells a cheesy chips pizza and it sounds amazing.
Subway has also created a twist on everyone’s favourite fast food with its new range of pizza subs, including a spicy pepperoni and a veggie option.
