WE’VE all been there – you’ve had a few too many drinks with your partner and next thing you know you’re trying to recreate THAT Dirty Dancing lift. It happens to the best of us.
But while most of us usually chicken out before fully committing to the epic jump, one couple decided to give it their best shot at a wedding of all places – and safe to say, it did NOT go well.
The hilarious clip was shared on Twitter earlier this summer when US talk show host Jimmy Fallon asked his viewers to submit their funniest wedding fails.
Responding with the cringeworthy nine-second clip, Morgan Murray, from Tennessee, USA, wrote: “My husband and I tried to do the Dirty Dancing move at his brother’s wedding.
“Turns out we should have left it to Patrick Swayze… I ended up bursting my mouth open and he had a concussion.”
And it’s for THAT exact reason we’ve always been to scared to recreate it ourselves.
To be fair to Morgan and her husband, she did give it a proper good run-up but failed to jump high enough.
Where Jonny lifts Baby up around her torso before balancing her above his head, Morgan instead accidentally bodyslams her husband in the face – causing him to topple backwards into the buffet behind him and smack his head on the floor.
And to make matters even more confusing, ‘Time Of My Life’ ISN’T EVEN PLAYING in the background.
Instead, the couple decided to risk it all to Selena’s Gomez’s ‘Come & Get It’ – and that’s the one key detail about this story we’ll never understand.
Unsurprisingly, we weren’t the only ones who can’t stop watching this clip on repeat.
One user responded: “Your look of confidence right before the jump kills me. You really thought you were going to nail it.”
Another added: “Omg crying laughing.”
“So funny,” a third wrote. “I have no sympathy…”
Maybe this lift is better left to 80s rom-coms after all.
