FORMULA ONE teams have been presented with the latest guidelines for cars for the 2021 season.
Last month, F1 chiefs released images of their 50 per cent scale model as it underwent windtunnel tests.
The car, called Lima, has been designed to allow future F1 cars to race closer together, as they will leave less turbulence in their wake.
And now F1 have told the teams that the design will feature more elegant front and rear wings.
The sweeping design plans have led to the creation of some stunning interpretations, which are now running online.
Distinctive wing tips on the front wing now point upwards, in the same way wings to on aeroplanes, to reduce air turbulence behind them.
F1 will continue to test Lima, which also has a lower nose and a slighter larger cockpit, before presenting the final set of rules at the end of October.
Meanwhile, the prospect of a new team entering F1 for 2021 has been rebuffed by FIA president Jean Todt.
Rumours of Panthera entering a car in 18 months’ time led to the Frenchman, 73, remarking: “I will be careful. I don’t consider talks or gossip or things like that. I am concrete.
“At the moment, apart from some website talking about new teams, I’ve never had any strong contact from a relevant solid team wishing to join F1.”
