SINGER Sam Smith — who wants to be referred to as “they”, not “he” — has bought a £12million mansion.
The singer’s five-bed, Grade II listed home is in an ultra-exclusive district of North London.
A source said: “Sam is one of the biggest popstars in the country, and has been handsomely rewarded as a result.
“But they have also been very wise with their money, had sound financial advice and invested sensibly in bricks and mortar.
“The new property is absolutely stunning and boasts a very colourful history.”
It is less than a mile from the 18th century townhouse Sam bought in 2015, next to ’80s pop star Boy George.
Four years ago Sam wrote the theme tune to James Bond movie, Spectre. He won an Oscar for it the following year, dedicating their win to the LGBT-plus community.
The non-binary 27-year-old was last year named in the annual Sunday Times Rich List, with an estimated £24million fortune.
Sam, whose hits include Stay With Me and Bond theme Writing’s On The Wall, posted on Instagram earlier this week: “I am changing my pronouns after a lifetime of being at war with my gender . . . to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out.”
