MADONNA celebrated her 61st birthday with an extravagant birthday party over the weekend.
The music icon turned 61 on Friday August 16, and has marked the occasion with a string of events.
The star was treated to a lavish party, which saw her dress up as her alter ego Madame X as she wore a military ensemble complete with a green general jacket emblazoned with badges and medals, as well as a hat and eye patch.
She shared a picture of her in her get up for the bash on her Instagram account, which read: “Madame X is a 4 star general.”
While a separate post was captioned: “Madame x had too much fun at her Birthday Party last night! Thank you Everyone! #madamex #birthday.”
The star was treated to a performance from her children David and Mercy, as one video saw the 13-year-old belt out Elton John’s Your Song, which other guests including Madonna joined in, while Mercy played the piano.
The Like A Prayer hitmaker captioned a video of her singing with her brood: “Best Birthday present ever……………. when your children sing to.”
Madonna continue to party the night away with her children as she was filmed dancing in the centre of the dancefloor surrounded by her friends and family, before she shared a separate clip of her in action before her kids took to the fore.
She captioned the post: “Gang-Gang celebrates Last night of. Madame X Birthday Extravaganza!”
Madonna had two outfit changes as she changed into black fish net tights, a patterned silk dress with a black lace bralette underneath.
The musician was also treated to a feast at her bash, as her and her guests enjoyed pizza before she was presented with a full tray of doughnuts, which read out “Happy Birthday Madame X.”
While a separate shot captured the red and white balloons with the letter X emblazoned on them dotted around the venue.
Madonna continued the celebrations the next day as she shared videos of her kids jumping into the swimming pool, as well as a shot of her daughter Lourdes hanging out of the window.
She also shared a separate shot of her with her little ones dressed in matching Versace outfits.
The festivities come while Madonna is rehearsing for her Madame X tour, which is set to start later this year.
The tour marks Madonna’s 14th studio album, and comes shortly after the release of her latest track Batuka.
