MAX Branning is set to make a shocking confession to his ex-lover Stacey Fowler in EastEnders tonight as the pair continue to grow close again.
After taking some advice from her best friend Ruby Allen, Stacey decides to make things up to Martin after his failed attempts to reunite her and cousin Kat Slater.
She plans a romantic meal for them both to apologise for giving him a hard time.
Later, Stacey will give Max some stern advice over his drinking and baby Abi, but when he accidentally cuts himself on a broken picture frame, Stacey is horrified at what she finds when she helps him.
Stacey comforts Max – who’s played by Jake Wood in the BBC One soap – as he completely breaks down and she ignores Martin’s calls as he frantically calls her, wondering where she is.
When she finally speaks to her husband, she’s surprised at how understanding he is when she tells him why she has to cancel their romantic dinner.
As a distraught Stacey checks on Max, she’s floored when he makes a shocking confession to her.
But unknown to Max and Stacey a jealous Martin glares at Max’s house from across the Square. Is he right to be worried?
Stacey broke Martin’s heart over Christmas 2017 when she told him she’d slept with Max on Christmas Eve. She’d even contemplated running off with him before his daughters Abi and Lauren fell off of the roof of the Vic.
Martin threw her out and the couple split for a few months and were even thinking about divorcing at one point. But they eventually made up and have seemed happier than ever in recent months, uniting over Ruby’s rape ordeal at the hands of Martin’s school friends.
It’s also been revealed that Max will begin a relationship with Ruby in upcoming episodes which will leave Stacey feeling jealous. Is she secretly harbouring feelings for Max even after promising Martin there’s nothing between them anymore?
With actress Lacey Turner – who recently gave birth to her first baby – about to disappear on-screen as she heads off on maternity leave, could Max be the reason Stacey leaves Walford?
