EMMERDALE fans are relieved Dr Liam Cavanaugh isn’t a serial killer – after he confessed to taking part in murder mystery nights when Bernice Blackstock accused him of trying to murder her.
Tonight’s episode saw Dr Liam leave the village heartbroken over Bernice’s actions – but fans are predicting he will return and will be revealed as a killer.
The doctor prepared a loving surprise picnic for Bernice and blindfolded her to take her to the woods but as he got the basket out of the car, Bernice sprayed him in the eyes with hair spray before fleeing.
She ran through the woods terrified before falling when Liam tried to help her up but she misunderstood and thought he was trying to murder her.
“Get off me, get off me,” she screamed.
“I’m begging you please don’t hurt me. Spare me I won’t tell anyone. Please Liam if you ever loved me don’t do it, don’t kill me.”
Jimmy and Nicola then caught up and tackled the killer doctor before knocking him out with a pork pie.
As Nicola comforted her terrified sister, Liam came to and they took the opportunity to question him and the truth came out – he is a fake murderer.
He told them: “They’re props, the scalpel, the photo, the balaclava, everything, they’re props for my murder mystery nights. There, I’ve said it.”
As Nicola fell about laughing and Bernice asked him why he hadn’t said anything before, he said: “Because of that reaction.”
Later Liam broke up with Bernice over her actions, telling her: “I don’t think we have much of a future, do you? Bernice, you thought me capable of murder. It’s hardly a great foundation to build a relationship on.
“Just get out of the car Bernice. I need some time on my own.”
Fans are convinced the doc will return and will be later revealed as a real-life killer with one tweeting: “Anyone else think Liam really is a killer?”
