The 59-year-old star had been off work and offline since announcing Julia shock passing three weeks ago.
However, Ruth took the time to congratulate Gemma Atkinson and her partner Gorka Marquez after they announced the birth of their daughter at the weekend.
Commenting on Gemma’s Instagram post sharing the exciting news, Ruth wrote: “Congratulations yummy mummy and daddy!
“A beautiful (I’m sure) baby girl… What a precious gift. Sending you all much love.”
The TV favourite added a series of heart emojis to her sweet comment, which was ‘liked’ by dozens of fans who were delighted to have her back.
Ruth was left “distraught” last month after she received the shock news that Julia had died.
Sharing a photo of the two together, she wrote: “My lovely sis Julia has sadly died after a very long illness. My heart is completely broken.
She was the kindest and most gentle soul and I will miss her forever. As I am sure you will appreciate I need to take time to grieve with my family. Thank you for your understanding.”
A source told The Sun Online: “Ruth is utterly heartbroken and devastated to have found out her beloved sister Julia has died.
“She adored Julia. They were very close – speaking all the time on the phone and enjoying girls’ days out.
“Julia had been unwell for quite some time but this has shaken Ruth to the core.
