HOLLY Willoughby was awarded a trophy for having the best bush on This Morning today.
The presenter went head to head with her co-host Phillip Schofield to trim their shrubs into a love heart shape in 45 seconds, after receiving expert tips from Charlie Bloom.
Ahead of the competition the pair stifled their giggles as a string of innuendos ensued.
Phillip, 57, said: “June is the perfect time for you to trim your bush.”
Holly added: “It is time for you to bring out your clippers and shears sand start trimming.”
However, the pair were interrupted by police sirens, which fuelled further jokes from the duo.
Phillip said: “The police are coming to stop this item.”
Charlie – who was a former stockbroker before she received the Bush of the Year award in 2016 – went on to explain the tools and techniques involved in topiary, much to Holly’s surprise.
She said: “There are different types of bush?”
Phillip – who has daughters Ruby and Molly – joked: “Noone likes an unruly bush.”
When the 45 seconds were up, Trinny Woodall surfaced to crown Holly as champion with even more innuendos, as she made reference to a female’s bikini wax.
On looking over Holly’s creation, she quipped: “Not quite Hollywood enough.”
The segment on the daytime show had viewers in hysterics. One tweeted: “Holly enjoyed playing with her bush.”
A second shared: “Stop it @Schofe the bush innuendo remarks #ThisMorning I know what you’re meaning matey lol.”
Fans found the segment hilarious and took to social media to share their entertainment at the momentWhile a third added: “I don’t think I can take all these bush puns today”, a separate watcher said: “Holly’s gonna show us how she trims her bush.”
Holly and Phillip are known for playing with their words on the programme, and for bursting out into uncontrollable fits of giggles when they helm the show together.
The hilarious moment comes shortly after the pair’s – who have been the nation’s favourite double act for over 10 years – friendship came under strain after the 38-year-old stepped in for Ant McPartlin to host I’m A Celebrity — helping ITV secure record viewing figures.
Tensions rose in April when the Sunday Times Magazine featured an interview with the pair, which saw Holly wear a cartoon crown on the front cover, while Phillip, 57, was left bare-headed.
Phillip was livid with the article, and the mag was forced to write a letter of apology to his management.
The strain between the star and his co-presenter was apparent during a live special of This Morning at Birmingham’s NEC on May 16.
However, they have since put their feud behind them as Holly paid tribute to her friend on Father’s Day.
