MANCHESTER United and England legend Sir Bobby Charlton’s holiday home is up for sale for £585,000 – and is just a two-hour drive from Old Trafford.
The 1966 World Cup hero, 81, escaped to the white-washed walls of Tyddyn Barcud cottage with wife Norma during the Seventies and Eighties.
The idyllic four-bedroom getaway, on Llanddona beach on the Welsh island of Anglesey, is now up for sale.
It boasts amazing sea views and a sprawling garden – but the conservatory will come in handy to take in the views during the inevitable Welsh rain.
The peace and tranquility of the property are a million miles from the atmosphere at Old Trafford on a matchday.
But the getaway actually lies just 115 miles away by car, meaning getting to and from Manchester for a game shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
The cottage sits at one end of Red Wharf Bay, which forms part of the Anglesey coastal path.
Ceiling beams, flagstone flooring and white-washed walls give off the air of a traditional building but a modern kitchen has all the mod cons you could need.
Sir Bobby could escape to the idyllic cottage during his United career, having spent 17 years at the club between 1956-73.
He became a member of the board of directors in 1984 and remains one as of last season.
