A HUGE rescue operation is underway in Tenerife in a bid to find a British man who went missing while riding a jet ski at the weekend.
Divers are still searching the coastal areas of Palm Mar, a few miles from the resort of Los Cristianos, after the unnamed man, 23, disappeared at around 11.30am local time.
Emergency workers have also enlisted the help of professional diving volunteers and have also deployed rescue boats and helicopters.
It is believed the missing Brit, who was wearing red shorts, may have jumped into the sea to take a dip in the water.
The alert was raised when he failed to reappear while his jet ski was found abandoned.
Officials at the British Consulate are assisting and providing support to family and friends while the search continues.
The operation, which began on Saturday, also involves police combing the beaches and rocky areas of the coastline.
