STEVEN GERRARD will continue his raid on former club Liverpool as he closes in on a loan deal for winger Sheyi Ojo.
The Rangers boss is also desperate to tie up a permanent deal for his Anfield team-mate Ryan Kent following his temporary stint at the Ibrox last season.
Kent, who has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, was crowned PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year last season.
Gerrard, 39, is looking to build a squad capable of challenging Celtic at the top of the table.
Last season they ended the campaign nine points behind their fierce rivals.
And he believes Ojo will prove an instant success in the Scottish top flight.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at French side Reims and any first team opportunities at Liverpool will prove hard to come by.
Jurgen Klopp rates him highly and that was reflected when he agreed a five-year contract extension.
It is believed Ojo is keen for a move and a loan deal could be completed next week.
Gerrard is also determined to continue his pursuit of Oldham centre half George Edmundson.
He has already seen a offer of around £600,000 rejected.
