TOTTENHAM’S starting line-up could be very different next season — with replacements all over the pitch.
The Champions League runners-up are set for big changes in at least four positions for their first full season in the new stadium.
Mauricio Pochettino is set to lose Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen, while a deep-lying midfielder could be a priority acquisition.
Both the futures of Danny Rose and Kieran Tripper are far from clear, after reports Tottenham were ready to cash in on the England internationals.
That has linked the club with big names, including Portuguese sensation Bruno Fernandes, who would be a goalscoring replacement for Eriksen.
The Dane, 27, is understood to be keen on a move to Real Madrid, but Zinedine Zidane’s side have just signed Eden Hazard.
If they do get rid of him, Sporting Lisbon ace Bruno would be a top target, given he scored 20 goals in the Portuguese Primeira Liga last season.
The midfield base of Eric Dier, World Cup-winner Moussa Sissoko and Victor Wanyama may need freshening up this year.
And as SunSport revealed this week, Spurs are keen on a swoop for Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele, 22.
Lyon want £70million for the midfielder, but the North London club are confident he could get them for more like £50m.
Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake, 24, could be a target if Tottenham lose Alderweireld, whose contract expires next summer.
Spurs have also looked at Cherries Callum Wilson and David Brooks, but Ake looks ready for a step up after three impressive seasons at Eddie Howe’s side.
Then the left-back slot is also an area that Spurs are keen to refresh, with Danny Rose’s future also up in the air.
The Yorkshireman had a good season after an injury nightmare and won his place back ahead of Ben Davies.
A top option would be Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon, who would cost around £45million, but Spurs hope they can get him for £25m.
The 19-year-old already has Premier League experience after starring in the Championship and could play either left back or left wing, but would also be useful if Pochettino decides to go with three centre-backs and wing-backs.
Kyle Walker-Peters could be in line for a promotion if they do let Tripper go, but the World Cup semi-final goalscorer’s future seems to be the least threatened.
