JEREMY Hunt has lectured broadcasters to “grow up” after being referred to as “Jeremy C***” in repeated slip ups.
The PM-hopeful revealed he was “used to it”, with the unfortunate gaffe striking throughout his political career.
Tory MP Vicky Ford was the latest to fall victim to the embarrassing slip of the tongue as she praised the Foreign Secretary’s economic policies on BBC 5 Live.
Victoria Derbyshire also mistakenly called the foreign secretary “Jeremy C***”, while chairing a debate about who should be the next prime minister on BBC.
But speaking to Chopper’s Brexit Podcast, Hunt said: “I’m used to it. I had this when I was at school.
“Personally I think people should just grow up and get over the fact that my last name rhymes with a rather unpleasant word.”
It comes as Hunt came a distant second to Boris Johnson in the race to No10 with Michael Gove, Sajid Javid and Rory Stewart among those yet further behind.
Mr Hunt launched a string of personal attacks on Boris and accused him of dodging the public by refusing to sign up for a TV debate this Sunday.
He blasted: “What would Churchill say if someone who wants to be Prime Minister was hiding away from scrutiny?”
Mr Hunt, yesterday’s runner-up, also slammed Boris as a Brexit flip-flopper, telling the BBC: “I’ve been consistent, Boris is the person who voted against Theresa May’s deal and then for Theresa May’s deal.”

Theresa May is claimed to be among those who voted for Hunt in the leadership contest.
While the outgoing PM told reporters it was “none of your business” who she had backed, an MP on Mr Hunt’s campaign said: “We’re confident the PM is backing us.”
And a source close to the PM said: “The only person who knows who she voted for is herself and Philip May, but it was between Jeremy Hunt and Matt Hancock.”
Mr Hunt’s team were also confident they had won the backing of Chancellor Philip Hammond.
Amber Rudd also formally threw her weight behind Jeremy Hunt.
Matt Hancock today quit the leadership race as Remainers launched a fresh “stop Boris” plot to shore up opposition to the frontrunner.
