PIERS Morgan has put the boot in axed Love Island star Sherif by saying that he was dropped for “having a brain cell”.
The Good Morning Britain host, 54, took to Twitter to mock the 20-year-old’s departure from the villa.
He wrote: “Someone called Sherif has been kicked off the Love Island villa. Unconfirmed reports he was found in possession of a brain cell which was deemed to give him an unfair advantage.”
Earlier today The Sun exclusively revealed how Sherif had been booted out of the villa after breaking strict rules.
The chef – who was coupled up with Anna Vakili – mutually agreed with bosses to leave the reality series after just nine days.
A Love Island spokesman said: “After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.”
Sherif said: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.
“I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”
Love Island bosses issue contestants with a set of rules before they go into the villa.
The Love Island storm so far…
It is unclear specifically what he was kicked out for, but Islander protocol includes no nudity, a ban on masturbation and the practice of safe sex.
However, while Sherif has already left the villa, viewers won’t get to see his exit, instead the show’s narrator Iain Stirling will mention it in a voice over.
A TV source said: “Sherif’s departure will be spoken about in tonight’s show but the reason for his exit will not be disclosed.
“Fans won’t see the moment Islanders are told about Sherif leaving and his goodbyes won’t be aired either.”
