WHAT’S IT LIKE? Dating back to 1788, this former coaching inn is packed with history.
Newly refurbished, it’s now a lovely pub with 18 boutique-style bedrooms, a cosy bar and smart restaurant featuring exposed brick walls, colourful leather booths and vintage maps on the walls.
ROOMS ANY GOOD? Very. No two are the same, but all blend traditional touches with contemporary style.
They feature funky printed wallpaper and hand-picked furnishings, from padded headboards to modern lampshades.
Ours had a four-poster bed and ensuite with a huge double shower.
EAT THERE OR GRAB A PIZZA? Grab a pizza – but from here, because the dough is made in-house and the wood-fired pizza oven cooks it to perfection.
I can also recommend the 12-hour roasted pork belly. Breakfast options range from full English to sweet potato, avocado and whipped feta hash.
WHAT ELSE? The hotel is just a five-minute walk from Warwick Castle and two minutes from the shops, restaurants and pubs in Market Place. The hotel also serves a mean G&T.
SO YOU’D GO BACK? Yes. The Globe is just right, with a superb restaurant, a relaxed vibe and decor that looks straight from a design mag.
WHAT’S THE DAMAGE? B&B from £55pp a night based on two sharing.
