DAVID Beckham wished the Spice Girls “good luck” ON social media ahead of their tour launch, as he reminded his fans “there will only ever be one POSH SPICE”.
The proud husband of Victoria, 45, posted an iconic shot of his wife from the Say You’ll Be There video with a sweet message.
David, 44, wrote a touching tribute to his wife of 20 years this morning as her former bandmates get ready to start their tour tonight in Croke Park, Dublin.
Uploading to his Instagram Stories, he wrote: “As someone that has lived with POSH SPICE for the last 23 years I know how emotional today is going to be but I just want to wish all the girls good luck with their amazing tour.”
He finished the post by saying: “There will only ever be one POSH SPICE”
Fans were devastated when Victoria revealed that she wouldn’t be going on tour with the rest of her bandmates, the last time being when they performed together in 2012 at the Olympics.
Back in November last year she posted a touching message to the girls on her social media.
She wrote next to a promo shot of Ginger, Sporty, Baby and Scary: “Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012!
“I won’t be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year.
“I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time! X vb #spicegirls #friendshipneverends”
Many fans speculated that Victoria was opting to focus on her own fashion brand rather but some thought it could be much more simple.
During a surprise appearance at the People’s Choice Awards 2018 in Los Angeles, Victoria appeared to be uncomfortable on stage.
She said: “I hung up my microphone some time ago and I get scared when I get up on stage and see a mic.”
The mum-of-four has indicated her focus is on her fashion label right now – and not the legendary girl band.
The 45-year-old said: “It’s always about empowering women, making women feel the best, most beautiful and strong version of herself.
“With the Spice Girls it started as girl power. And now it’s about empowering women through fashion.”
She continued: “I work really, really hard. I hope that other people can look at what I’ve done and have the courage to try as well.”
There were rumours circulating that Posh would make a cameo appearance on the tour but they were quickly shut down by her rep.
A spokeswoman for her said: “Victoria is likely to be away on business for the duration of the tour” and declined to comment on whether her family would attend.
