TOTTENHAM’S disastrous afternoon at Bournemouth has delighted fans on social media who brutally trolled Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
Spurs suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Vitality Stadium where Nathan Ake headed home an injury time winner against the nine men of the North London side.
Their hopes for a top four finish now hang in the balance after the club suffered their sixth Premier League away defeat of the season.
Pochettino’s side still sit in third place, but could drop to fourth should Chelsea beat Watford tomorrow, while Arsenal would trail their rivals by just a point if they emerge victorious against Brighton.
South Korean international Heung-min Son was shown a straight red card for his shove on Jefferson Lerma just before the break.
While Argentinian defender Juan Foyth was sent off two minutes after coming on at half-time for a horror challenge on Jack Simpson.
Spurs’ defeat was their 13th loss of the season in the top-flight, and supporters couldn’t help but revel in their misfortune on Twitter.
Gary Lineker tweeted: “Not sure what the attraction is of the Europa League, but some of our clubs seem desperate to be in it.”
One joked: “Spurs don’t want anyone claiming there (sic) title as biggest bottlers in England do they.”
Another commented: “Let’s all laugh together at Tottenham. Certified bottlers. I don’t think I know of any other team who f*** their season up with such consistency and devotion, year in-year out.”
While another quipped: “Spurs really need to change their name to BOTTLERS FC.”
