PIERS Morgan has revealed that he was in a “world of pain” when he got an easy question wrong on The Chase yesterday.
The 54-year-old admitted his “brain literally frozen” and hinted that the Good Morning Britain team struggled when they faced the Chasers for a celebrity special.
“We filmed The Chase yesterday, it’s not airing until November, thank god because there’s a good chance I might be out of the country,” he said on Good Morning Britain.
“But it’s certainly fair to say things are a little more difficult under the lights when you have one of the chasers bearing down on you.”
“And we can’t say who the chaser was but the sweat beads were numerous and you’re going to love a couple of moments when my brain literally froze.”
He admitted: “I scuffed an easy question. It was supposed to be an easy one to get you in the mood and then it turned out to be a real little zinger so it threw me and then I was in a world of pain.”
Susanna teased: “Oh dear, what comes between A and C in the alphabet?”
But fans will have to wait until November to find out how they fared.
It’s not yet know which Chaser the feisty duo went up against.
Last night, Piers shared a snap of Susanna Reid on the set of The Chase – and admitted it’s a lot harder than it looks on TV.
Bradley Walsh welcomed Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan into The Chase studios today
Piers revealed on Twitter: “Just finished taping @ITVChase with my @GMB colleagues @susannareid100 @kategarraway @RichardAArnold.
“Wow.. to say it’s a lot easier watching at home is the understatement of the century. Great fun though. Airs in the autumn..”
He shared a snap of Susanna beaming with presenter Bradley Walsh.

But in a conversation with his colleague Ranvir Singh, Piers hinted that he may not have been victorious on The Chase.
Ranvir said: “God I get cold sweats thinking of when I was on @ITVChase.
” The pressure makes your brain turn to jelly! I’m sure the team did brilliantly ?!”
The GMB host replied: “Our lips are sealed until November… but let’s just say I can identify with your experience!”
Susanna said: “Had fun doing The Chase on Team GMB with this legend at the helm. Comes out in November.”
Before they headed to film the one-off special, Piers admitted having a restless night’s sleep.
He said: “We’re all a bit worried because we all began to watch it a few days ago and we can’t get any of the questions right.”
The Chase first launched on ITV in 2009.
Since then the team have filmed more than 1,000 episodes and at least 100 celebrity editions.
