THE Widow viewers raged they’d ‘lost eight hours of their lives’ tonight as Georgia convinced Will to tell the truth before bringing Adidja to Wales in the final episode.
The eight-part ITV drama starring Kate Beckinsale finally came to an end tonight, but it wrapped up a little too neatly for some viewers, while others were still totally lost as to what was going on.
After finally finding husband Will alive during Monday’s episode, Georgia was still reeling at the start of the episode.
But eventually she pulled herself together and managed to convince Will to tell the truth about the plane crash he was believed to have died in, and expose Judith and the major general for their crimes.
As she filmed a protest by the plane crash victim’s families outside the major general’s house, Georgia told Will: “Honesty, it’s the one thing I’m asking.
“if you owe me anything in life…tell the truth.”
For once Will did the right thing and told the authorities, potentially striking a deal to save himself in the process.
Judith was arrested while the major general shot himself in the head, before Georgia was seen returning to her cabin in Wales.
At the end, she was joined by orphaned girl soldier Adidja, who was brought to the house by Georgia’s godfather Martin.
As the two females set off on their new life together, viewers took to Twitter to complain about the series’ outcome.
One wrote: “Well what a pile of s*** .. and many hours of my time wasted.”
Another added: “Possibly the most contrived ending ever #TheWidow.”
A third tweeted: “Well that’s 8 hours of my life I won’t be getting back…..far-fetched, ridiculous story lines, flitting around between continents and decades. #thewidow was a massive letdown.
A fourth agreed, writing: “Thank god #TheWidow is finally over. 8 Hours of my life I won’t get back.”
However some loved the show, with one writing: “what a beautiful end to an amazing series!”
Another added: “Aw although the ending could have been even better I’m glad Georgia was reunited with Adidja.”
A third agreed, tweeting: “OMG What a drama ! @KateBeckinsale was amazing! Fantastic drama well done #TheWidow.”
