BEFORE Meghan Markle dreamed she would ever be part of the royal family, she wrote about wanting to be a princess and her thoughts on Kate Middleton.
On her now-defunct blog The Tig, Meghan published a post about “grown women’s” obsession with royalty.
Meghan Markle published a post on her now-defunct blog The Tig in 2014 about wanting to be a princess[/caption]
The then-Suits actress gave her thoughts on her future family back in 2014, a few years before she met Prince Harry.
She wrote: “Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power.
“For those of you unfamiliar with the ’80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man, and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength. We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here.
“Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”
Meghan also said that grown women have a fantasy view of princesses and royalty – and used Kate Middleton as the example[/caption]
Little did she know that she would be planning her own royal wedding a few years later after falling in love with her own prince.
The Tig blog post accompanied an interview with Princess Alia Al-Senussi, a descendant of Libyan royalty.
Now Meghan regularly hangs out with members of the British royal family, but at the time she admitted she felt star-struck by emailing the Libyan princess.
She said when she met the royal, she had a bit of a “pinch-myself-I’m-emailing-with-a-princess” moment.
Meghan now lives the princess lifestyle herself and has been passionate about championing women empowerment, just like her “She-Ra” fantasy.
Meghan is now sisters-in-law with Kate, although there have been numerous rumours the pair have a rocky relationship[/caption]
On the royal family’s website, Meghan’s bio says: “From a young age, The Duchess had a keen awareness of social issues and actively participated in charitable work.
“These early experiences helped to shape her lifelong commitment to causes such as social justice and women’s empowerment.”
Meghan is now sisters-in-law with Kate, although there have been numerous rumours the pair have a rocky relationship.
There were claims Kate had told Meghan not to berate members of her team after she reportedly “b****cked” a member of staff.
The row – which the Palace has denied – followed rumours that Kate was “left in tears” during a “stressful” fitting for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.
