JOHNNY Vegas once STABBED an 11-year-old boy in a row over sausages while he was training to be a priest, the star’s mum has revealed.
Patricia Patterson spilled the beans as she joined her famous son on an upcoming episode of BBC chat show All Round To Mrs Brown’s.
Addressing 48-year-old Johnny’s history with the church, Patricia admitted that she “didn’t like” her son training to be a priest.
According to The Metro, she explained that her son was picked on at the school, adding: “Even though he was only 11, he never drink sugar in his tea, and they never once gave him a cuppa tea with no sugar in.
“They used to put the sugar in the teapot, on purpose! And he couldn’t have a drink.
“Then this other lad didn’t like him so kept pinching his food, so he [Johnny] got the knife one day and stabbed him!”
Horrified Johnny was quick to clarify the situation, insisting that he didn’t “stab” the other child, to which Patricia insisted that the “knife went through the other guy’s finger”.
Comic Johnny clarified: “He came to nick sausages and I put a fork in his hand!
“You’re making it sound like Oz!”
He added: “I didn’t stab him in the traditional sense.”
As a child, Johnny attended Catholic boarding school St Joseph’s College to train for priesthood but returned home after just four terms due to homesickness.
He then studied art and ceramics as a teen a t Middlesex University before finding fame in the ’90s as a TV star and comic.
Johnny and his mum’s full interview will air this Saturday on All Round to Mrs Brown’s at 9.15pm on BBC One.
