MEGHAN Markle’s pregnancy style has gripped the nation – but it seems she’s had her sights set on reality queen Kim Kardashian for inspiration.
The Duchess of Sussex, 37, has appeared to copy Kim’s look from when she was pregnant five years ago on numerous occasions.
From glamorous thigh-high dresses to sleek, figure-hugging outfits, Meghan seems to have harked back to her Hollywood style over the past nine months.
Instead of taking a leaf out of Kate Middleton’s book with heavier materials and weighed hems, Meghan has gone full Kardashian glam.
One example was when she wore a red, detailed dress which fell to the knee, which looked like a dress Kim wore in Las Vegas at The Mirage hotel in 2013.
And another time was during their Moroccan tour when Meghan wore a bespoke Dior gown with trailing cape, which was very similar to a nude outfit Kim wore five years ago.
Hopefully, she won’t continue to replicate the Kardashian style or we’ll be seeing her in barely-there dresses and shorts.
No doubt Kim will be flattered with the comparison, after it was reported the TV star was planning to give the Duchess of Sussex a gift following the birth of her baby in spring, in the hopes of striking up a friendship.
A source said to be close to Kim told RadarOnline that she was desperate to impress the royal mum-to-be, and could give her something extravagant such as “diamond baby jewellery”.
The source said that Kim felt the gift could be a good way to get “in” with the royal family.
The insider commented: “The royal baby’s a perfect time for her to remind Meghan – and Harry – that she and Kanye are sincere, thoughtful people and she’s looking to stand out from all the other celebrities with something truly impressive.
“She’s been researching everything from diamond baby jewellery to crystal nursery décor and designer onesies.
“Kim is convinced she and Meghan will be best friends one day.
“It’s very much a long-term project and she’s chipping away to impress her when the opportunities arise.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have numerous famous friends, inviting the likes of the Beckhams and the Clooneys to their wedding in May.
While working as an actress, Meghan got close to fellow film stars like Priyanka Chopra, along with becoming pals with sporting giants like Serena Williams.
