DEVASTATED Married At First Sight fans have claimed that Jonathan should have been paired with Verity, rather than Steph after the couples decided to go their separate ways after the show ended.
Viewers of the Channel 4 show have said that the couples were in fact mismatched, as Steph and Jack were much better suited.
One viewer tweeted: “Maybe the scientists messed up and they matched the couples the wrong way round – Jonathan & Verity and Jack and Steph?? Or maybe not!”
Another wrote: “As great as Jack and Verity are, a part of me can’t help think that they’ve matched the couples the wrong way round. Maybe Verity and Jonathan would’ve been better and Steph and Jack are better suited.”
A third tweeted: “Is it only me or does anyone else think they matched the wrong couple? Jonathan and Verity would be the perfect fit”
Another tweeted in despair: “How much should they have matched Jonathan and Verity together instead on #MarriedAtFirstSight they matched the wrong couple!!!”
Viewers were left gutted last night when Jack and Verity decided to end their marriage after hitting it off on the show.
Fans hoped that the newlyweds would prove the experts made the correct decision with their pairing.
On the final episode the couple confirmed that they would stay married, however just minutes later they appeared on screen separately.
Jack explained that he felt that he did not have a strong enough connection to Verity and their marriage had collapsed.
He said: “The last time I saw Verity was two weeks ago where I decided that we left it there and go our separate ways.
“It was hard making that decision and seeing someone get hurt.
“She is such an amazing girl, but I didn’t have that connection, that missing jigsaw puzzle, unfortunately we didn’t have that.”
Jack added: “I hope we’re still friends by the end of this.
The other couple of the show, nurse Steph, 28 and husband property manager Jonathon, 39 were the complete opposite to Jack and Verity.
The couple split just days after the wedding and couldn’t bear to be in the same room as each other.
The Sun Online revealed that the couple broke up in such a bitter split and they no longer speak to each other.
“Steph and Jonathan were a disastrous match – everyone knew it, even at the wedding,” says an insider.
“They can’t bear to be in the same room as each other now, and don’t communicate.
“It’s made things really awkward for promoting the show as they can’t even sit next to each other or put on a fake smile for interviews.
“It’s been a nightmare – her friends and family support her, but knew it wouldn’t last.”
