CRISTIANO RONALDO proved again that he was one of football’s nice guys by making Juventus fans happy even before scoring the crucial away goal in the draw at Ajax.
The Portuguese great proved to be the headline maker once again as he netted his record-setting 125th Champions League goal in the 1-1 draw on Wednesday night.
Despite the magnitude of the quarter-final first leg, Ronaldo spared the time to impress one young supporter who was in disbelief at how close he was to the star.
As the teams lined up for the Champions League anthem, the 34-year-old noticed the awestruck fan in front of Leonardo Bonucci swivel round to get a closer look at his hero.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner flashed the eager lad a huge smile and a cheeky affectionate ear grab and his lovely gesture didn’t go unnoticed by fans online.
One wrote: “How sweet! Now imagine the butterflies inside the lad on whose shoulders Ronaldo rested all the while.”
Another commented: “Respect to Ronaldo, it only takes 10 seconds to create a memory the young lad will treasure for the rest of his life!”
Twitter user Grant Evans said: “Ronaldo is a complete class act! The mans on top of the world yet he’s still humble and grounded!”
The former Real Madrid star later continued his love affair with the Champions League as he netted a diving header for the Old Lady as they drew in Amsterdam.
Ronaldo has proved a popular figure within the Juventus dressing room since he moved to the Allianz Stadium last summer for £88million from the La Liga giants.
His teammate Emre Can revealed earlier this month that the Serie A top scorer does not boast about his superstar status and retains perfect manners.
He told Sport Bild: “I can say that Cristiano is a very calm guy, he has his feet on the ground and he does not exhibit a star status, he impressed me a lot.
“[He] is the first to say ‘hello’ and ‘thank you’ for everything, he does not behave like that only with other players, but also with coaches, masseurs. People would be surprised if they saw what normal that is.”
