ROMAN REIGNS insists there is a spot waiting for Conor McGregor in WWE – with the rest of the cruiserweights.
The Irishman shocked fans this week by announcing his retirement from UFC.
McGregor, 30, has been linked with a move into the wrestling world on several occasions.
But he failed to endear himself to WWE’s roster as he referred to their athletes as “messed up p*****s”.
That has failed to stop talk of him following in Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey’s footsteps by swapping the octagon for the squared-circle.
However, former WWE Champion Reigns does not believe Notorious would be able squaring-off against himself and the other heavyweights.
He says the ex-UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion would be better off with the cruiserweights.
Reigns told ESPN Deportes: “We got the best spot on 205 Live.
“He is a cruiserweight, no doubt, and we’ll let him go in there and flip with all those guys.”
It remains unclear what plans McGregor has after announcing he was quitting UFC.
He broke the news on Twitter, saying: “Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as ‘Mixed Martial Art’ today.
“I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition.
“I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement.
“Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!”
Meanwhile Reigns is preparing for next week’s WrestleMania 35.
He battles Drew McIntyre just weeks after returning following his second successful fight with cancer.
The 33-year-old made his pay-per-view comeback alongside his Shield colleagues Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to defeat McIntyre, Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin at FastLane.
