ANT McPartlin looked glum after being seen for the first time since best friend Dec Donnelly admitted going to therapy over his drink-driving conviction.
The presenter – who has returned to work after a nine-month break – was seen alone as he puffed on a vape in Fulham.
With his head bowed down, the 43-year-old cut a solemn figure as he walked along the street in darkness.
It comes after the pair’s first joint interview since Ant was forced to admit his addiction problems when he crashed into two cars in south-west London last year.
While everyone knows Ant took time out of the spotlight to deal with his addiction issues in rehab, it wasn’t known Dec asked for help to sort through his own problems.
“I’m not too proud to say I sought help when Ant was away and throughout Ant going away,” he told the Guardian’s Weekend magazine.
“It’s the most destabilising thing that has ever happened to me.
“Therapy helps to talk to somebody independent, who doesn’t watch or care about TV. We just sit and talk for an hour.”
Ant was twice over the legal limit when he crashed last March.
The shocking incident threatened the duo’s 30-year career and was a massive strain on their relationship.
“I wanted to punch him and I wanted to hug him at the same time,” Dec admitted.
“I’d be lying if I said the thought hadn’t crossed my mind [to end the friendship]. I thought about every eventuality and every permutation.”
They will be seen on telly together again on April 6 after Holly Willoughby stepped in for Ant to takeover I’m A Celebrity.
But Dec jokes it was only ever a “one-night stand” with Holly – and he was always going to reunite with Ant.
In fact the star broke down as he spoke about working together again on the new series of Britain’s Got Talent.
He has just been nominated for four TV BAFTAs with Dec who held the fort while he was in recovery.
And in January, Ant and Dec won the National Television award for best presenter for the 18th consecutive time, showing they have the public’s support for the much-anticipated return.
