A LAWYER has quit her 9-5 job to become an eBay entrepreneur and made £100k.
Jade Oliver, 34, from Bristol, started selling old furniture seven years ago.
She initially wanted to pay off a £10k loan from her legal course.
But her venture proved so successful she’s now become a full-time eBay-er.
She bids on items cheaply, revamps them and sells them on for a profit.
She’s even sold to TV sets including Game of Thrones and The Crown.
She gave The Mirror her top five selling tips.
Number one was using broad search terms, she said.
“For example, if you are searching for a ‘lamp’, you could search for both ‘light’ and ‘lamp’,” she explained. It meanslooking through more results, but the chances of finding what you are looking for will be greater.”
For number two she suggested creating a search alert so when a matching item came on sale you got a notification.
For three she highlighted the importance of timing.
“Most people will be bidding for items on a weekend or after work, meaning the final sale price on items ending at those times can be higher than for similar listings ending during working hours or during the night,” she told the Mirror.
Four was all about haggling – she said people were often willing to negotiate on offers.
And point number five recommended bidding only at the last minute, so not to push the price up too high.
