THE Queen’s former aide has warned Meghan Markle that she needs to respect royal staff and should stop “trying to be clever”.
Royal expert Dickie Arbiter said that the Duchess of Sussex should be aware she is just a “supporting player” and that there is only “one star in the monarchy” – the Queen.
Former royal aide Dickie Arbiter said that Meghan needs to realise her pecking order in the royal family[/caption]
Speaking to Nine News Australia, Dickie said: “What Meghan has got to do is forget she is on the red carpet of show business – she is now on the crimson carpet of monarchy.”
Dickie said that Meghan needs to realise her pecking order in the royal family, and that she’s even below her husband Prince Harry.
He added: “She plays a supporting role, not just to Harry but to the Queen as well.”
Speaking of the recent report in Tatler than Meghan has been given the nickname Me-Gain by Kensington Palace staff, he said: “I put a big question mark over it.”

He added: “The officials there, yes, there are probably one or two or maybe three or four who might not like the way Meghan operates.”
Dickie added that Meghan has got to “settle down” when she returns from her maternity leave in autumn.
The royal advisor said: “She has got to think about how she is going to operate. And the way she is going to operate is to listen to the officials.
“Listen to the communication secretary and operate under their advice. Don’t try and be clever. Don’t try and do things yourself.”

There have been a number of reports about how the Duchess of Sussex is said to have a demanding personality and rigorous work ethic.
Pregnant Meghan is said to have an unrelenting schedule – reportedly bombarding her staff at dawn with various demands from as early as 5am.
And she is said to have “ripped up the rulebook” when it comes to the royals with her constant messages to staff.
Private secretary Samantha Cohen will leave her role at the palace after the baby arrives[/caption]
A royal insider said: “Meghan can be difficult. She has very high standards and is used to working in a Hollywood environment.
“However, there’s a different degree of respect in the royal household and Kate has always been very careful about how she has acted around staff.”
The duchess has had a number of staff resignations since she joined the royal family in May, including their private secretary Samantha Cohen, who will leave after the royal baby arrives.
It came as a shock to many when it was reported last year that Samantha, who has worked at the palace for 17 years, was to leave her role.
Meghan Markle’s right-hand woman Amy Pickerill will reportedly leave her role when the couple move to Frogmore cottage later this month[/caption]
Another high profile aide for Meghan, Melissa Toubati, sensationally resigned just six months after the royal wedding.
The French assistant who played a “pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding” ditched her appointment after “putting up with a lot”.
And Meghan’s right-hand woman Amy Pickerill, who was appointed as her secretary last year, is set to leave her position.
A source told the Mail: “It’s very sad for her colleagues, as she is a really popular member of staff.”
However, friends of Pickerill insist that the departure is on good term, telling the Mail: “She has agreed to stay on to help them with the birth of the baby and organise their new household, but will then move on.”
The comments come weeks before Meghan and her husband Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are due to move into Frogmore Cottage in the grounds of Windsor Castle ahead of the birth of their first child.
In other royal news royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams claims that Meghan and Harry’s baby could “heal” the feud between the Sussexes and the Cambridges.
And the Sun’s former royal editor Duncan Larcombe has spoken about how Harry has gone from a warrior prince to a ‘hippy husband.’
