THE guru behind Britain’s vote to leave the EU has warned activists they must get ready for another referendum NOW – but this time it’ll be even easier to win.
Dominic Cummings, the mastermind behind Britain’s vote to leave the EU back in 2016, told activists today to start rebuilding their grassroots army.
The ex-chief of Vote Leave said today: “Start rebuilding our network now. We will try to grow super fast. And it looks like we will need to.”
In a blog he added: “Remember: we won last time even though the Establishment had every force with power and money on their side.
“They screwed it up because they do not have good models of effective action: they literally do not know what they are doing, as they have demonstrated to the world in the farcical negotiations.
“They are screwing up their attempt to cancel the referendum. Beating them again and by more will be easier than 2016.”
Next time “we will not close down” after winning the vote, he vowed. The campaign will make sure that the “votes are respected”.
“Spread the word among those you know,” he stressed.
And he urged Brits not to worry about the hated Northern Ireland backstop because it probably won’t be permanent anyway.
He labelled hard-line Brexiteers in the ERG as “narcissist delusionals” who were “spouting gibberish” and slammed them for attempting to destroy the Leave campaign.
“You should be treated like a metastasising tumour and excised from the UK body politic,” he blasted.
Earlier this year star Benedict Cumberbatch played Mr Cummings in Channel 4 drama The Uncivil War – about his role in the Brexit vote.
The news comes as Mr Cummings was accused of refusing to take part into a parliamentary inquiry into fake news.
The Privileges Committee hit out at him for appearing not give oral evidence when he was ordered to last year.
But in his blog today Mr Cummings said he would be happy to give evidence under the condition that “all of us are under oath to tell the truth” and said bosses had ignored his letters for months.
“I hope they take it up but I am not hopeful,” he added.
And he also said there were “legal issues” because of a separate inquiry.
