FIVE people have been injured after a huge explosion rocked Sweden this morning.
The blast took place in an industrial area of Vallingby – close to Stockholm – rocking apartments and a hotel in the area.
Horrified witnesses say they were woken up around 1am local time as the explosion rattled their windows and doors.
Thick black smoke could be seen billowing over Stockholm this morning as cops launch a probe to establish the cause of the explosion.
Five people have been injured with at least two rushed to hospital, police confirmed.
Police say it caused significant damage to cars, homes and businesses in the area but they are not yet treating it as a crime.
Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and a huge tourist hotspot with thousands visiting its 14 islands connected by 50 bridges.
