THERE’S more drama for the Metcalfe family in Coronation Street next week as Tim suffers a heart attack shortly after wife Sally is released from hospital after the horrific factory collapse.
He begins to feel unwell and assumes it’s indigestion but when his sister-in-law Gina Seddon – played by Connie Hyde -calls in at the cab office before leaving the cobbles for good, she’s shocked by the state of him.
Tim heads home complaining of pain in his chest and arm, but Gina won’t leave until she knows he’s ok and tells Sally that he needs to see a doctor.
A panicked Sally calls an ambulance.
When Tim’s released from hospital later, Sally fusses around her husband and insists that from now on they will only eat healthily.
But when Sally heads out to find Gina, Tim searches the house for chocolate.
Sally finds her sister and thanks her for her part in saving Tim’s life, but Gina is left shocked when Sally asks her not to leave the Street.
Will Gina stick around?
Poor Sally was left wracked with guilt as she convinced herself she was to blame for the roof of Underworld collapsing and killing Rana Habeeb.
Actress Sally Dynevor who plays the former Mayor of Weatherfield exclusively told The Sun Online: “She feels incredibly guilty about what happened and actually thinks it’s all her fault for going on the roof.
“It’s not until much later when someone in the pub says, ‘it can’t have been that one thing’ and Sally starts to think ‘Oh it can’t have just been me falling backwards’.
“But until that moment she’s feeling incredibly guilty.”
But after realising it can’t have been her fault, and that there’s no way two women standing on the roof could have caused such devastation – Sally knows who she blamed – Carla.
Sally added: “She does turn her back on Carla after the Underworld collapse but actually she is the one before the collapse who says, ‘We’re not having this, we’re going on strike’.
“If you’re going to send your knickers to be made elsewhere then we’re all going on strike.
“Sally and Carla have got a real love hate relationship, which I really like.
“Carla’s always there for Sally, and I think Sally is always there for Carla but occasionally likes to feel like she’s in the right and stand up for what she thinks.”
However with Carla nearing a breakdown over Rana’s death, Sally could further add to her load and push her into devastation.
