CHELSEA fans have been left baffled after Samu Omorodion completed a cut-price transfer just weeks after his Stamford Bridge deal fell through.
The striker, 20, was on the brink of becoming a Blue after Chelsea struck a £34.5million agreement with Atletico Madrid.
Chelsea fans are baffled after Samu Omorodion completed a cut-price move elsewhere[/caption]Omorodion is regarded as a top prospect after scoring eight goals for loan side Alaves last season.
But the transfer collapsed at the final hurdle, allowing Chelsea to eventually sign team-mate Joao Felix as Conor Gallagher moved in the opposite direction.
Aston Villa were then among the sides who expressed an interest in signing Omorodion.
However, the Spanish Olympics winner has now completed a shock move to Portuguese giants Porto.
And after Chelsea were set to pay nearly £35m to Atletico, they have handed over just £13m.
It left Blues fans confused as to why they were prepared to splash out nearly three times as much.
And many took to social media to express their outrage.
One said: “What on earth is this.”

Another declared: “So they wanted to scam Chelsea.”
One noted: “That is a crazy deal.”
Another added: “Chelsea dodged a bullet.”
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has since revealed that Porto are paying a smaller fee as they actually own just 50 per cent of Omorodion’s rights.
That means Atletico still own the other half – entitling them to half the fee of any future transfer.
The deal has given Omorodion a release clause of £84m, and may prove to be a bargain in several years should he blossom into a top marksman.
Meanwhile, Porto can pay £4m next summer to take their ownership of the striker’s rights to 65 per cent.
And in 2026, another £4m to Atletico will see Porto own 80 per cent.
