Calcio Mercato report the forward’s agent, Roberto Calenda, flew to Paris to facilitate negotiations.
This led to a call being held on Monday between club president’s Aurelio De Laurentiis and Nasser Al Khelaifi and sporting directors Giovanni Manna and Luis Campos.
However, these talks have led to the deal grinding to a halt, with PSG saying they have no intention of triggering the huge release clause.
The Italians did offer to reduce the fee if South Korea international Kang-In Lee was included in a deal, but this proposal was swiftly rejected.
Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele were then spoken about instead, though this idea was also struck down.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has added that under the current conditions, the deal is NOT happening.
