Ange Postecoglou has been providing an injury update on his Tottenham Hotspur players ahead of the Premier League match against Newcastle United.
Rodrigo Bentancur, who has only recently returned from his seven-match domestic suspension once again misses out after his foolish yellow card in injury time during Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Wolves means he must serve a one-match ban after picking up five bookings.
The Australian is once again without a number of the Tottenham first-team squad due to respective injury issues with the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Ben Davies, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Wilson Odobert and Richarlison all sidelined.
Destiny Udogie added to Tottenham’s injury issues when the Italian international suffered a hamstring injury during the draw against Wolves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which is the latest in a long line of similar muscular injuries suffered by Spurs players this season.
Djed Spence makes a welcome return from suspension, having served his one-match ban after his dismissal at Nottingham Forest.
After a slow start to the season, Newcastle have won their last five games across all competitions in stark comparison to Tottenham’s struggles which has left them in eleventh place in the Premier League table heading into the weekend’s matches.

Postecoglou told Football.London: “Destiny his hamstring. Looks around six weeks for him. We lose Bentancur suspended. None of the injured ones are back yet. We’ve had a bit of an illness bug with a few not training.
“At this stage Richy and Mikey Moore are the next cabs off the rank, we’re hoping next week. Ben, Micky and Romero all kind of around the same time, back end of January.”
Tottenham vs Newcastle United takes place on Saturday with kick-off at 12:30 UK time, with the match being televised live on TNT Sports 1.
