Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have both reached out to a Premier League full-back, who is also sought after by clubs in Italy and Spain.
The player in question is Tyrick Mitchell, who has just six months left to run on his current deal with Crystal Palace.
It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Tottenham and other Premier League sides are watching the Englishman’s situation closely and are plotting a move.
Last week, it also emerged that the Eagles may be willing to sell the 25-year-old to Spurs on a cut-price deal in January as they do not wish to lose him on a free in the summer.
CaughtOffside now have an update on the full-back’s future, revealing that even though Palace are keen to tie him down to a new deal, the player is not keen on signing an extension at Selhurst Park.
The report claims that both Spurs and Arsenal have already spoken to Mitchell and his representatives about a potential switch to North London.
It is revealed that Mikel Arteta’s men see him as an upgrade over Oleksandr Zinchenko while the Lilywhites want to add more depth at left-back and view the Englishman as the ‘ideal acquisition’.
However, CaughtOffside make it clear that Tottenham and Arsenal may have a major battle on their hands to sign the Palace man, who is also on the wishlist of several of Europe’s elite clubs.
One of those is Atletico Madrid, with Diego Simeone wanting an experienced left-back who will add dynamism and solidity to the side.
Meanwhile, AC Milan and Barcelona are said to be in the market for a new left-back and are keeping close tabs on Mitchell’s situation.
The outlet adds that these three clubs see a deal for the 25-year-old as a ‘strategic opportunity’, given his contract situation and the possibility that he could be available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
