Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a versatile young American attacker, but they would have to see off competition from two of their Premier League rivals to land the player.
Malik Tillman has gone from strength to strength since breaking into PSV Eindhoven’s starting eleven last season and he has arguably been one of the best players across the Eredivisie so far this campaign.
The 22-year-old, who can operate as an eight, a ten or on the left-wing, has 10 goals and four assists to his name so far, and his displays have reportedly not gone unnoticed in the Premier League.
It first emerged back in November that Tottenham and Aston Villa were both keeping tabs on the youngster, and it was later reported by other sources that the USA international has a release clause of €30m-€40m (£24.9m-£33.2m), which will become active next summer.
GiveMeSport have now backed up Tottenham and Aston Villa’s interest in Tillman, but they say that those two sides have now also been joined by Manchester United in the race for the midfielder.
The outlet particularly talks up Villa’s interest in the player, claiming that he is seen as the ideal signing by Unai Emery, who wants to bolster his attack in January.
However, the publication claims that a January deal for Tillmann would be difficult for any Premier League club to finalise as PSV want to hold onto the former Rangers man until the summer.
If there is one position that Tottenham are well stocked in, it is in the number eight/ten role, with Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall at Ange Postecoglou‘s disposal.
Spurs also have some exciting young players coming through in that position, with big things expected of Jamie Donley and Alfie Devine.
The Lilywhites will likely be prioritising an out-and-out winger or a versatile forward, who can play across the front three, with Tillman not being a fit for either of those profiles.
