John Wenham, who regularly breaks news on Tottenham’s youth teams and the developments in the academy, believes that one youngster should ask to leave the North London club in January.
Ange Postecoglou has been more than willing to give opportunities to youngsters this season, with his hands sometimes being forced by the club’s injury situation.
The likes of Mikey Moore, Will Lankshear, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray have all got opportunities to show what they can do, particularly in the Europa League.
However, for some reason, Tyrese Hall, who appeared to be on the verge of breaking into the first-team not too long ago, has not had a look in.
Hall has continued impressing for Tottenham’s Under-21s, having started every single game for Premier League 2 fixture this season, with three goals and two assists to his name so far (Transfermarkt).
Wenham suggested that the 19-year-old defensive midfielder is too good for youth football and needs to be loaned out to the EFL next month.
When asked about Hall’s situation, he told Tottenham News: “It is a strange situation because Hall featured heavily during pre-season. However, we’ve not seen him at all since then, and I’m not sure why that is. It is an unusual situation, and I think the best thing for Hall is to head out on loan in January.
“He is above the level of Under-21 football, in my opinion, and should be out playing senior men’s football and gaining valuable experience. Therefore, hopefully, the club are doing everything in their power to facilitate that and get a good move for the midfielder.”
One can understand why Hall has not had any first-team opportunities this season, with Postecoglou not being short of options in the middle of the park. Even Archie Gray has not had an opportunity to play in his preferred midfield position.
It did come as a bit of a surprise when Spurs did not loan the 19-year-old out in the summer and one would assume that the club have already started working on a potential loan move for Hall in January.
