Lucas Bergvall is enjoying somewhat of a breakout season at Tottenham Hotspur under Ange Postecoglou, having already been handed minutes in the Europa League and Premier League. However, his latest interview proves that his maturity is far beyond his 18 years of age.
Tottenham have an exciting batch of young players coming through the ranks at Hotspur Way, as well as a number of young additions to the first-team squad.
The likes of Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Pape Matar Sarr, Mikey Moore, and Will Lankshear are now fully-fledged members of the senior team, and the academy is still full of even more gems.
Bergvall, who played his football in Sweden last season, seems ready both physically and mentally to make the step up this season in North London.
In an interview with Sport Bladet this week, Bergvall was asked what advice he had for fellow Swedish youngsters, Maximilian Ibrahimovic and John Mellberg, making their way into the first team.
Bearing in mind Lucas himself only made his debut recently and is still just 18-years-old, he replied: “Above all, keep your feet on the ground and keep working.
“You are there for a reason. Sometimes you should also be able to reflect on and be proud of what you have achieved.
“It (extra attention) may not always be the most fun. But you have also learned a lot from it, that there is always a camera in your face. There are both pros and cons.”
Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski will both be in action for Sweden over the next two weeks as they continue their Nations League campaign.
The Swedes play Slovakia on Friday, October 11th, before taking on Estonia on Monday, October 14th.
