One on-loan Tottenham man has been forced to withdraw from his national side due to an injury.
The player in question is Bryan Gil, who has had an exceptional start to the season at Girona, having joined the La Liga side on loan in the summer.
The winger, who struggled to get much of a look in at Tottenham under Antonio Conte or Ange Postecoglou, appears to be enjoying his football again, making the left-wing spot at Girona his own.
On the back of his impressive displays, Gil was recalled to the Spanish national side by coach Luis de la Fuente.
The winger would have hoped to impress for the European champions in their upcoming Nations League clashes but unfortunately, the 23-year-old has had to pull out due to an injury.
The Spanish FA confirmed that the on-loan Spurs man has returned to Girona after reporting some discomfort.
While Gil’s recall might not have gone according to plan, another Spurs man looks set to get his chance for La Roja, with Pedro Porro being recalled to the squad.
The right-back suffered the heartbreak of being left out of the Euros squad but he might now get an opportunity to impress against Denmark and Serbia.
