Destiny Udogie has taken to social media to update fans on his fitness status after coming off at half-time of Tottenham’s win over Manchester United.
Udogie appeared to pull up midway into the first-half of Spurs’ clash at Old Trafford after making a lung-busting forward run.
The left-back continued after receiving some treatment and seemed to be moving fine for the rest of the half but he was withdrawn by Ange Postecoglou at the interval, which raised some concerns.
The Tottenham boss clarified in his post-match press conference that he only chose to take off the left-back as a precaution as he ‘felt something in his quad’ (Football.London).
Udogie has now taken to social media to assuage fans’ fears, stating that he is sure he will be okay.
The Italian also expressed his delight at the fact that Tottenham came away with all three points from Manchester.
Here’s what the Spurs defender posted on Instagram following his side’s 3-0 win:
Djed Spence, who replaced Udogie at half-time, delivered another accomplished performance down the left. The 24-year-old has already shown on several occasions this season that he has the ability to play as an inverted left-back despite being right-footed.
In fact, the Englishman has been so good that Postecoglou might even be having some regrets over leaving him out of the Europa League squad.
