The transfer window in England may have closed, but that doesn’t mean Tottenham have to stop signing players. They could still dip into the free agent market, and there is one name that has now been pushed to the Premier League club.
Throughout the summer, Spurs were continually linked with central midfielders as Ange Postecoglou reportedly wanted to bolster his options in the middle of the park.
Be it a number 6 who can protect the defence and break up play, a dynamic number 8 who can carry the ball forward, or a number 10 who can offer more playmaking options in the attacking third, Tottenham were apparently keen to do business.
But, with the impressive start made by Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall since joining the club, those rumours slowed down and Spurs have begun the season without further additions to the midfield.
Still, even with the transfer window closed, there is a chance they could bring in a new attacking midfielder, as Yusuf Yazici has been offered to a number of Premier League clubs, including Spurs.
That’s according to HITC, who claim Tottenham, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Fulham, Newcastle, Wolves, West Ham, and Southampton have all been contacted regarding the availability of the Turkish international.
It is thought Galatasaray are leading the race to sign Yazici, while AC Milan also hold some interest. It is unknown at this stage whether any of the English clubs are actually going to make a move for the 27-year-old.
Yazici was released by Lille at the end of the season after his contract expired. He scored 12 goals and registered four assists in 42 games last term (Transfermarkt).

I am always wary of any free agent who is still available once the transfer windows have shut and the summer is over. If Yazici was that good, he would have been snapped up by now. I cannot see us pursuing this one.
