Yang Min-hyuk will join up with Tottenham Hotspur in January, but before he arrives at his new club, the youngster has been getting tips on London living and a message of support from a very unlikely source.
At just 18 years old, Yang Min-hyuk has a bright and exciting future ahead of him, but the idea of moving across the world to London could well be daunting for someone his age.
He will, of course, have the mentorship of Spurs skipper Heung-min Son to lean on when he makes his move to Tottenham official.
But, before that, the teenage sensation has been getting some words of advice and support from none other than Jesse Lingard.
Prior to the game between Yang’s team, Gangwon, and Lingard’s FC Seoul, the latter told Tottenham’s new boy that he will enjoy himself in London and to get in touch if he needs any help with anything.
According to a report from The Spurs News, Yang told Lingard he was learning to speak English and admitted it was difficult to pick up. Lingard then responded: “You will like London. London is a top city… If he needs any help, I’ll help him.”
Yang is currently on loan at Gangwon until the New Year, and will be finishing the Korean League season before he joins up with the Lilywhites.
He has been in top form, with eight goals and five assists in 28 matches (Transfermarkt) this season as he looks set to guide his side to their first-ever K-League title.
The young winger also bagged himself the league’s Player of the Month award for July, the first-ever rookie to do so. Yang has followed that up with a first call-up to the Korean national team.

I always got the impression that Lingard had a bit of an attitude and an ego, but this is actually really nice of him and perhaps shows how he has matured since his career took a bit of a downturn in recent years.
Regardless, I cannot wait for Yang to arrive, and hope he can live up to his big expectations.
