Cristian Romero has insisted that he and his Tottenham teammates are determined to stick together and continue improving.
Spurs had a disappointing start to the campaign, being held to a 1-1 draw by newly promoted Leicester City.
There was a lot to be encouraged about Tottenham’s performance at the King Power Stadium, with Ange Postecoglou’s men showing a level of control in the first half that we hardly saw last season.
However, some of the same problems reared their ugly head, with Spurs once again proving wasteful in the final third and looking susceptible defensively at times in the second half when they surrendered possession.
Predictably, some have questioned the mentality of the Tottenham players after they dropped points on Monday (BBC Sport) but the noise coming from within the camp suggests that the players are still very determined to show that they have turned a corner.
James Maddison accused the media of getting ‘carried away’ and called on his teammates to block the outside noise a couple of days ago (The Standard).
Ahead of Tottenham’s first home game of the season against Everton, Romero has now taken to social media to state that the Lilywhites are determined to keep growing as a side and insist that they are on the right track.
The Argentine wrote: “With the same ambition and desire to continue growing. All together in this new season. We are on the right track.”

There is evidently plenty of togetherness and belief in the squad. However, it is inevitable that doubts would start creeping into the minds of the players if results are not favourable.
So it is vital that we pick up a few wins on the board so that the players can play without any fear and express themselves on the pitch.
